A Study on Robustness of Various Deformable Image Registration Algorithms on Image Reconstruction Using 4DCT Thoracic Images
Background: Medical image interpolation is recently introduced as a helpful tool to obtain further information via initial available images taken by tomography systems. To do this, deformable image registration algorithms are mainly utilized to perform image interpolation using tomography images.Materials and Methods: In this work, 4DCT thoracic images of five real patients provided by DI...
متن کاملTracking of Image Intensities Based on Optical Flow: An Evaluation of Nonlinear Diffusion Process
Image smoothing based on anisotropic diffusion provides better performance than classical linear filtering. One difficulty is to compare and evaluate the different models proposed. Since the basic model arises from fluid mechanics, we propose to track anisotropic diffusion using an optical flow technique through a new physics based image model. Consequently to this, we propose a new choice for ...
متن کاملUsing fractional gradient information in non-rigid image registration: application to breast MRI
This work applies fractional differentiation (differentiation to non-integer order) to the gradients determined from image intensities for enhanced image registration. The technique is used to correct known simulated deformations of volumetric breast MR data using two algorithms: direct registration of gradient magnitude images and an extension of a previously published method that incorporates...
متن کاملComputation Optical Flow Using Pipeline Architecture
Accurate estimation of motion from time-varying imagery has been a popular problem in vision studies, This information can be used in segmentation, 3D motion and shape recovery, target tracking, and other problems in scene analysis and interpretation. We have presented a dynamic image model for estimating image motion from image sequences, and have shown how the solution can be obtained from a ...
متن کاملAlgebraic Topology-Based Image Deformation: A Unified Model
In this paper, a new method for image deformation is presented. It is based upon decomposition of the deformation problem into basic physical laws. Unlike other methods that solve a differential or an energetic formulation of the physical laws involved, we encode the basic laws using computational algebraic topology. Conservative laws are translated into exact global values and constitutive law...
